Dear WINO's--our issuance of this announcement was slightly delayed due to an emergency medical
situation experienced by one of the owners of Doce Lunas, where we will be having lunch again this
year. Remember, this is only the general details announcement; an individualized e-mail informing
you of your specific per person cost (based on your 2009 membership and prior excursion
participation) will follow almost immediately, so please be ready to act quickly in submitting your
registration/payment. To allow for maximum WINO participation at this always popular event, NO
GUEST REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THIS TIME. All registrations/payments must
reach me no later than Monday, Dec. 7. Now here's the scoop:
Saturday, December 12th WINO Holiday Wine Tour and Lunch:
10 a.m.--we meet at LANDMARK VINEYARDS (101 Adobe Canyon Rd. at Hwy. 12, Kenwood) to
sample award-winning Chards and great Pinots and Syrahs.
11 a.m.--back down the valley to LITTLE VINEYARDS (15188 Sonoma Hwy {CA-12}, Glen Ellen), a
charming small winery tucked behind B.R. Cohn's spread, specializing in Zin and Petite Sirah.
The rock guitarist owner Rich may grace us with a few riffs while we sip.
12 noon--on to ENKIDU (8910 Sonoma Hwy {#12}, Kenwood) in the same commercial complex as our lunch
restaurant. Dennis admits to having been "blown away" by their wines, listing them among his favorites in the
area. If Rod recalls correctly, their bottle labels/titles reflect an interest in the Epic of Gilgamesh, but don't let
that distract you from the quality of the wine.
1 p.m.--lunch at Doce Lunas (8910 Sonoma Hwy) across the patio from Enkidu; a fixed menu, family
style meal, like last year, but with some new tastes from chef Alex.
We look forward to seeing you in December. Meanwhile, a Happy Thanksgiving to all, as you
